WEEKEND PREVIEW - 6 APRIL

Apr 05, 2024

A pretty full league is programme scheduled for this weekend as we start to approach the business end of the season.

In the Senior Division, leaders Infinity only have one more game left to play - not this weekend - so the focus is on the teams chasing them, all of them with games in hand. Locks Heath, in second, travel to Sway, whom they beat 4-1 at home a couple of weeks ago. Liphook United, in third, have the most games still to play (eleven, in fact) and one of those is this weekend, a big one at home to fourth placed Stockbridge. In the battle for fifth place, Bishops Waltham Dynamos are a point ahead of Paulsgrove; BW are at home to Liss Athletic, who had a good win at the BOSC on Monday, and the Grove are at home to Hook. who had a good win over BW last week.

RESULTS

There is a bottom-two clash as Moneyfields Res host Fleet Spurs, who ran Liphook close on Monday, and a bottom-six clash as Colden Common are at home to Hayling United. Harvest are only one place above Moneys, but have several games in hand, they are at home to Whitehill & Bordon.

TABLES

It's a similar situation in Division One, as leaders Hedge End Rangers have played more than the teams below them, and don't have a game this weekend. The big game is Hedge End Town, who still have the most games to play (eight), at home to second-placed Whiteley Wanderers. The reverse fixture last weekend finished 3-2 to Whiteley, and another close game is in prospect. Meon Milton are in third, and entertain Headley United, who beat the leaders last time out.

FIXTURES

At the bottom, last-placed Michelmersh & Timsbury host Overton United, who have won their last two, and Broughton host Twentyten, both sides in decent form despite still being in the bottom four. In middle of the table, AFC Netley host QK Southampton. The visitors have lost their last five, conceding 23 goals, including a seven-goal defeat at Upham on Monday.
