WEEKEND PREVIEW - 13 APRIL

Apr 12, 2024

A full league programme is scheduled for this weekend, and there is a lot to play for!

TABLES

In the Senior Division, Infinity completed their league programme on Wednesday with a draw against Whitehill & Bordon, and now must wait to see what the three teams behind them can do. All can overtake Infinity if they win their games in hand. Second placed Locks Heath have a trip to bottom side Fleet Spurs, and third place Liphook United, who are best placed with nine games still to play (they won this midweek), face a big A3 derby game at Liss Athletic. Liss' form recently (including an 8-0 win at Bishops Waltham Dynamos last weekend) could take them into the top five if they continue.

Fourth-placed Stockbridge, who cannot afford any more slip-ups, face a trip to Sway, who are slipping down the table after three successive defeats. It's tight at the other end of the table, with five teams within two points of that second-bottom position. Third-bottom Harvest, who have games in hand on those around them, face a journey to Bishops Waltham Dynamos, who will be looking for a reaction after two heavy home defeats, and Hayling United are at home to in-form Hook.

Fourth-bottom Denmead, who have played more than the rest, are at home to Whitehill & Bordon. Colden Common's win last weekend has taken them a little away from the danger zone, and they will be hoping to keep clear as they face Paulsgrove, who still have a good chance of that fifth spot.

FIXTURES

In Division One, leaders Hedge End Rangers were in action midweek, winning at rivals Town in the El Hedgio derby game to extend their lead at the top. They do not have a game this weekend (only one to play now), meaning that the teams in pursuit have a chance to catch up on them. Second placed Meon Milton have a trip to second-bottom Lyndhurst this weekend. Third-placed Whiteley Wanderers also do not have a game.

Hedge End Town, in fourth, have not won in four now, and are losing touch with the teams above despite their games in hand - they are at home to AFC Netley. At the other end of the table, two teams looking for points are fourth-bottom Broughton, who travel to out-of-form QK Southampton, and third-bottom Twentyten, whose unbeaten run came to an abrupt halt in midweek; they entertain bottom side Michelmersh and Timsbury. Sixth play eighth at Headley Rec, where Overton United, who have won their last three games, visit a team coming off the back of that 8-3 win at Twentyten.
