WEEKEND PREVIEW - OCTOBER 26
Almost a full league programme this weekend, the exception being an early second round Hampshire Saturday Trophy match. This involves a tough trip for Whitehill & Bordon to last year's beaten finalists, Southampton League side, Winsor United Green - who saw off several HPFL sides on their way to the final.
The Senior Division, with leaders Locks Heath not in action, sees the opportunity for the teams below to overtake them at the top. Only a point behind Locks are Liphook United, and they have a difficult trip to Hook, who are seventh and have won their last five (all home) games in all competitions.
Seven league games in a row have seen Andover Town rise to third, level on points with Liphook, and they have a home game with Harvest, who are also climbing up the table after winning their last three. Just behind them are Colden Common, who face Meon Milton in their first home game on the new Winchester City 3G pitch.
Stockbridge are fifth and they host an in-form Liss Athletic (pictured) in what should be an interesting game.
Two teams needing a good result after poor recent league form face each other at the Deer Park as Hedge End Rangers host Denmead. At the bottom Paulsgrove have a home game against Bishops Waltham Dynamos, who have picked up a bit recently (and who also won big in the cup at the weekend), and it's third-bottom v second bottom as Moneyfields Reserves are at home to Sway; the visitors are not in good form but put up a spirited performance in midweek at Wessex League side, Hythe & Dibden in the Southampton Senior Cup.
In Division One Broughton look to continue their 100% record with a trip to third-bottom Hayling United, who are showing a few signs of recovery.
Three teams are now level on points behind them; Crofton Saints, in second, have a tricky trip to Silchester, fourth-placed Overton United, fresh from a big win at higher-league opposition in the cup last weekend, host Headley United, and there is another big game at the Norman Rodaway as Hedge End Town, now up to fifth, look to build on their derby win with a game against third-placed Upham.
Lower down the table, the bottom two meet at Winklebury as Twentyten play QK Southampton, the visitors are definitely on the up after a few good signings. Two out-of-form sides just above the bottom three play each other at Station Road as AFC Netley host Whiteley Wanderers, and, slightly above them, Mob Albion travel to Rushmoor Community.
