Another pretty full programme of league games coming up this weekend, again some important ones amongst them. In the Senior Division, leaders Locks Heath (who have a Community Day) look to go further ahead at the top as they host fourth-bottom Meon Milton, since closest rivals Hedge End Rangers don't have a game. The teams behind Rangers could all make up ground on them if they win; Hook, in third, have a tough game at Bishops Waltham Dynamos; Crofton Saints, after three successive defeats, will be looking to bounce back at third-bottom Liphook United; and fifth-placed Whitehill & Bordon have a difficult trip to AFC Shirley, who ended their poor run with a good win at Crofton last weekend. The bottom two are also in action; Andover Town host mid-table Moneyfields Res, and second-bottom Stockbridge are at home to Denmead, who are sixth. With a good run both bottom sides could yet pull away from danger. In Division One, leaders Overton United are not in action, so there is a chance for AFC Netley to overtake them as they play their game in hand. But it is a hard one, away to third-placed BTC Southampton. Coincidentally BTC lost to Overton last weekend. Fourth-placed Silchester United were busy winning a cup on Wednesday, and they travel to bottom-club Paulsgrove this weekend. Defeat for the Grove would mean bottom spot is guaranteed. If Silchester slip up, Hedge End Town could overtake them if they win at Sway. Twentyten could pull away from the bottom two but won't find it easy at Nursling & Shirley, and Headley United host Hayling United.

The Easter period is upon us, there is a variety of league games on offer, some teams are playing more than once. Here is an attempt to put it all together; please check Full Time for up-to-date information as things may change over the weekend. There still appear to be three 1400 KOs in Division One. Please note that the next Hog Post will not be published until later next week as we hope to cover games from the whole of the Easter weekend. In the Senior Division, leaders Locks Heath have home games on consecutive Thursdays - Southsea Sports and Bishops Waltham Dynamos. They don't play during the Easter weekend. Second-placed Hedge End Rangers have two home games over the weekend, against AFC Shirley on Saturday, and Bishops Waltham Dynamos on Monday. Hook, in third, have two tough away games - at Moneyfields Res on Saturday and at fifth-placed Whitehill & Bordon on Monday. And to make up the top four, Crofton Saints, with games in hand on the two above them, have home games against Denmead on Saturday and AFC Shirley on Monday. At the other end of the table, bottom club Andover Town, now three unbeaten in the league, host Whitehill & Bordon on Saturday and travel to fourth-last Meon Milton on the Monday, a team they have beaten twice (once on penalties) in the last two weeks. Third-bottom Liphook United have a difficult trip to Broughton on Saturday, Denmead follow their trip to Crofton with a home game against Liss Athletic on Monday; and we have a bottom-five clash on Monday as Stockbridge play Southsea Sports, In Division One, there are some big games at the top. On Saturday, AFC Netley, who won at Overton on Saturday, and can overtake them at the top of they win their games in hand, travel to fourth-placed Silchester Village on Saturday and host Nursling & Shirley on Monday. Silchester also have a game on Monday against Whiteley Wanders, who are just below them in the table. Leaders Overton United have a tough trip to third-placed BTC Southampton on Monday; BTC also have a trip to Sway on Saturday. There are three more games scheduled for Saturday: two teams in the bottom three are in action, Twentyten host Hedge End Town, who need the points to keep in top four contention, and Mob Albion will look to end their long winless run with a trip to Hayling United. Nursling & Shirley are in a similar situation to HET and in addition to their trip to Netley on Monday and on Saturday they play Headley United; who suffered a big defeat at Sway last weekend after a good recent run. There is also a cup final involving our clubs on Wednesday - it's a battle of two Division 1 clubs in the top four; the North Hampshire Intermediate Cup final sees Overton United, who take on Silchester Village at Andover New Street. Both teams will have played on the Monday, Silchester will have played two top five sides over the weekend.

The Hampshire Premier Football League are saddened to report that popular hard working secretary Paul Crocker passed away this morning following a short illness. His partner Jess and sons were with him. Our thoughts and condolences are with them at this difficult time. As mentioned, Paul was immensely popular with all clubs and committee members and liked to get out and about every Saturday watching a game in the league and compiling a match report for that weeks' Hog Post and threw himself head first into league business at all times.
