LEAGUE NEWS

29 January 2026
Again, a couple of cup games scheduled and a pretty full set of league games, weather permitting. The cup sees the first of the Hampshire Saturday Trophy quarter-finals contested by our teams, an all-Senior Division clash as Crofton Saints host Whitehill & Bordon at the AEI. Note the early kick off as Fareham are using the ground later! There is also an all-Senior Division matchup in the North Hants Intermediate Cup, Hook hosting Broughton. In the Senior Division, leaders Locks Heath are in action at Liss Athletic, who ended their poor run last Saturday and remain in seventh place. With Crofton in cup action, both AFC Shirley and Moneyfields Reserves have a chance to overtake them and reach second spot. Shirley are at home to fourth-bottom Meon Milton and Moneys Res travel to Bishops Waltham Dynamos. Both Denmead and Hedge End Rangers will be looking to challenge the top five with a win; Denmead host Southsea Sports, who had a good win last weekend, and Hedge End Rangers travel to bottom club Andover Town. There is also a bottom-three clash as Liphook United play Stockbridge. In Division One, Overton United opened up a three-point lead at the top last weekend and now face Headley United, who were buoyed by a couple of wins against Paulsgrove in successive Saturdays. AFC Netley, in second, have a tough trip to fifth-placed Silchester Village. Hedge End Town went into third last Saturday and this time are at home to Sway, whose good run was halted in a close game at Overton last weekend. BTC Southampton, in fourth, are at home to Hayling United, who are now in the bottom five after five straight losses in league and cup. Further down the league, bottom club Paulsgrove host Nursling & Shirley, who are now down to mid-table (with games in hand) having lost their last three games. Mob Albion are now just above the Grove and have a tricky game at Rushmoor Community. Twentyten are third from last and travel to in-form Whiteley Wanderers, now seventh after five wins in their last six.

Again a weekend of some important cup games and a fair number of league games scheduled. However, there are a lot of wet pitches around. The Hampshire Saturday Trophy sees yet another attempt to play the match between Folland Sports 'A' and Andover Town. The uhlsport League Cup has a big game as Crofton Saints, second in the Senior Division, host AFC Netley, second in Division One. The George Mason Memorial Trophy sees an all-Division One clash, as third-placed BTC Southampton are at home to Twentyten. In the Senior Division leaders Locks Heath have a tricky trip to Denmead, who sit in seventh. AFC Shirley could go second if they win at Southsea Sports. Moneyfields Reserves could go fourth if they continue their excellent run; they entertain Whitehill & Bordon at the JJ. With bottom club Andover Town in cup action, the three teams just above them could widen the gap further with good results this weekend, and all three are separated by just one point. They all play sides who are in mid-table: second-bottom Liphook United are at Bishops Waltham Dynamos, Stockbridge travel to Broughton, and Meon Milton are at home to Liss Athletic. In Division One, leaders Overton United could go clear at the top with a result at home to Sway, who are in good form, having moved into sixth by winning four out of five. Fourth play fifth at the NormRod with Hedge End Town hosting Silchester Village, the winner will go third. Lower down the table, the bottom two meet again with this time Headley United the home team this time against last-placed Paulsgrove, having won 3-1 there last weekend. Just above them, Mob Albion have a difficult task against Whiteley Wanderers, who have won four out of their last five. Hayling United have lost their last four league games and have a trip to Nursling & Shirley, who have only played three times since the end of November and lost them all.
16 January 2026
Just the rain to contend with this time as we have a mixture of cup and league games scheduled. In the Senior Division, the top two will be looking to get back on track after losing last week. Leaders Crofton Saints have a big game as they travel to third-placed AFC Shirley, only a point behind with a game in hand. Second-placed Locks Heath, after their superb midweek win at US Portsmouth, are at home to Stockbridge, who have moved out of the bottom two after successive wins. Hook, in fourth, travel to Sholing to play Hedge End Rangers, who are in decent form and are looking to challenge for a top 5 place. Two teams currently in the bottom five, but with games in hand, have home games against teams above them: Meon Milton play Broughton, and Southsea Sports play sixth-placed Denmead. Liss Athletic, still in seventh, will be looking to end a poor run as they host Bishops Waltham Dynamos. Division One saw the top two draw last weekend; they are in action again this time, leaders Overton United are at Nursling & Shirley, and AFC Netley are at home to Mob Albion, who have just had five consecutive home defeats in the league. Hedge End Town have moved into third and face a trip to improving Sway, who have moved into sixth on the back for four wins in five. BTC, in fifth, have games in hand on those above them and have a tricky game at Rushmoor Community. Further down the table there are two matches involving teams in the bottom six; bottom club Paulsgrove entertain Headley United, who haven't played a league game since the end of November, and Whiteley Wanderers, three wins in the last four, play out-of-form Hayling United. The outstanding Hampshire Saturday Trophy game between Andover Town and Follands 'A' from the Southampton League has now been reversed to Follands. We have a local derby in the Aldershot Intermediate Cup as Liphook United host Whitehill & Bordon. There are also two ties in the North Hampshire Intermediate Cup as Twentyten host Amesbury Town Res, and Silchester Village host Bramley United U23.
9 January 2026
Only a couple of cup games scheduled for this weekend, so the focus is back on the league, with both divisions having pretty full programmes. One Hampshire Saturday Trophy match is scheduled after being called off last weekend, Andover Town hosting a useful-looking Follands 'A' team from the Southampton League. In the Portsmouth Senior Cup, Hayling United face a big trip to Isthmian South Central side AFC Portchester. Portchester's original opponents Leatherhead have an FA Trophy match. In the Senior Division, leaders Crofton Saints face a tough trip to in-form Moneyfields Res, who have risen to sixth after one league defeat in eight, some good victories amongst them. Locks Heath are only a point behind Saints with two games in hand and also face a tricky trip to Whitehill & Bordon. Hook, a point behind Locks, host mid-table Bishops Waltham Dynamos, and, just behind them in fourth, AFC Shirley are at second-bottom Liphook United. Further down the table, Stockbridge are now out of the bottom three and will be looking for their third victory in a row as they host Southsea Sports, with whom they are now level on points. Meon Milton are now third from bottom and have a trip to Denmead, who are fifth but are rather inconsistent. Liss Athletic are seventh but haven't won in their last six league and cup games, they travel to Broughton who haven't won in three. In Division One, the top two are only separated by goal difference and they meet on Saturday as AFC Netley host leaders Overton United. Third-placed Silchester Village host improving Whiteley Wanderers, and fourth-placed Hedge End Town travel to Mob Albion, who have lost four league games in a row. BTC Southampton, in fifth, have games in hand on those above them and they host mid-table Rushmoor Community, and Nursling & Shirley in sixth head to another improving team, Sway. Finally, we have a bottom-three clash as Twentyten play their first game for over a month as they host bottom club Paulsgrove, who are on a five-game losing streak.

1 January 2026
Hope you all had a good Christmas and best wishes for the New Year! For our first weekend in 2026 we have five games currently scheduled in the fourth round of the Hampshire Saturday Trophy and four Senior League matches. Please check Full Time for details on the day. The cup games see all of our teams, apart from one, facing reserve/U21 sides. The exception is Hedge End Rangers' tie with Hart United, who have already won at Stockbridge and Liss Athletic in this competition. They won the Aldershot League with a 100% record last season and are currently fifth in the Surrey County Intermediate League (Western), so this could be a good game to watch. Andover Town are at home to Follands 'A', who won at BTC in the last round, AFC Shirley travel to Meon Milton Reserves, Crofton Saints host US Portsmouth Res, who have already beaten Broughton and Bishops Waltham, and AFC Netley host Ringwood Town Development, who beat Twentyten on penalties after a 5-5 draw in the last round. As we've mentioned before, this sort of opposition is unpredictable. In the Senior Division, it's third versus second, and a win for either Hook or Locks Heath would see them take over at the top. If Denmead can beat Moneyfields Res by two or more goals they would move into fourth but Moneys are on a run of one league defeat in eight, so this could be a tough task. Also with a tough task are second-bottom Stockbridge, who are at home to sixth-placed Liss Athletic. There is also a mid-table clash between Whitehill & Bordon and Bishops Waltham Dynamos.

To finish the calendar year we have four league matches in each division scheduled. In the Senior Division , Locks Heath could go second if they beat Broughton at home, and they still have games in hand. Liss Athletic could go back to fifth if they win at Moneyfields Res, but their hosts are on a good run, with only one defeat in six. There is a clash of the bottom two at the Portway, Andover Town v Stockbridge, with the home side in better form and with a good Hampshire Saturday Trophy win last weekend. Hedge End Rangers play Meon Milton, who are no the bottom four after three successive league defeats. In Division One , the top two are separated only by goal difference and both are in action; leaders Overton United host Whiteley Wanderers, who have moved up to fifth-bottom after three wins in a row. Second-placed AFC Netley are at Hayling United. Silchester Village could move up to third with a win at Sway, who have moved up to eighth after three successive wins at teams in the lower half. Fifth placed BTC Southampton travel to Mob Albion, who are fourth bottom after three league defeats in a row with sixteen conceded..
10 December 2025
This weekend, again weather permitting, we have a mixture of cup games and league games. Most of the cup games are Hampshire Saturday Trophy ones that were postponed last week. Andover Town play Bournemouth Sports, doing well in the Dorset Premier League, there is an all-HPFL encounter as Senior Division Liphook United meet Hook, and there are three ties where HPFL sides play reserve/development teams: AFC Shirley host Petersfield Town Res, BTC Southampton host Folland Sports 'A' and AFC Netley travel to Eversley & California Res. We also have a League Cup quarter final as Southsea Sports entertain Locks Heath. In the Senior Division, leaders Crofton Saints look to continue their 100% record at their new home in Gosport as they face Liss Athletic, still fifth but on a run of three defeats. Both Denmead and Hedge End Rangers can overtake Liss if they win at home against Broughton and away at Moneyfields Res respectively. The Mead are currently one point ahead of Rangers. Whitehill & Bordon will be full of confidence after their win at IOW leaders Whitecroft & Barton last weekend as they travel to Meon Milton, who lost to Lyndhurst in the same competition. Second-bottom Stockbridge travel to Bishops Waltham Dynamos. In Division One, Overton United are now only top on goal difference after losing their 100% record to Hedge End Town last week. They host Rushmoor Community this time out so will need to bounce back. Hedge End Town, after that win, travel to Hayling United. Sixth-placed Nursling & Shirley host third-placed Silchester Village in a big game at the Hive. Four of the bottom five meet as Mob Albion play Sway, and Whiteley Wanderers host Paulsgrove (currently bottom).
6 December 2025
Weather permitting, a lot of our clubs are competing in the Hampshire Saturday Trophy this weekend, there are a few league matches too. In the Hampshire Saturday Trophy, there is a large variety of opposition for our teams. The first three opponents we mention are formerly of our league. Hayling United host Fleet Spurs, now near the bottom of Thames Valley Div One. Meon Milton are at home to Lyndhurst, second in the Southampton League, having lost their last two. Andover Town have a home tie with Bournemouth Sports, doing well in the Dorset Premier League. Stockbridge host Hart United, second in the Surrey Intermediate (Western). Whitehill & Bordon probably have the hardest task, a a trip to the Island to face IOW leaders Whitecroft & Barton Sports - a battle of the W&Bs. Several teams play assorted reserve/development/'A' teams, which as we know are often unpredictable affairs. AFC Shirley are at home to Petersfield Town Reserves, BTC Southampton host Folland Sports 'A' of the Southampton League, Broughton travel to US Portsmouth Res, Twentyten travel to Ringwood Town Dev, and Southsea Sports host Fareham Town Dev. There are also two all-HPFL ties: Third-bottom Liphook United are at home to second-placed Hook, both in the Senior Division, and Division 1 Headley United play Hedge End Rangers of the Senior Division. In the Senior Division, Locks Heath could go third if they bounce back from two consecutive defeats and defeat Moneyfields Res at the Rec. Denmead could overtake Liss Athletic in fifth if they beat them at 32 Acres. In Division One, leaders Overton United face a stiff test of their 100% record as they travel to Hedge End Town, who are sixth, but have lost their last two games. Third-placed Silchester Village host Rushmoor Community; the reverse fixture was played last week and was a thrilling 4-3 win for Rushmoor. Fifth-placed Nursling & Shirley could rise a place or two if they win at home against Mob Albion. Paulsgrove could move off the bottom as they host Sway, who are are only four points above them, and who lost to the Grove in the reverse fixture last month.
