WEEKEND PREVIEW - NOVEMBER 23

21 November 2024

Weather permitting (he said, for the first time this season) - almost a full league programme this weekend, with just a couple of cup games for our sides.

In the Senior Division, leaders Colden Common, now three points clear of the field, face a tricky trip to Harvest, undefeated in five league games.

TABLES

As for their two nearest rivals: Locks Heath host Whitehill & Bordon, and Andover Town are at home to Meon Milton - neither are easy games. Hook are only a point behind those two after a good run and they entertain second-bottom Sway. Also well in touch with the top four are champions Liphook United, they have a home game against in-form Bishops Waltham Dynamos.

RESULTS

A team in even better form in Liss Athletic, host Stockbridge who ended Andover Town's long unbeaten league record last Saturday in the Test Derby. Last-placed Paulsgrove are at home to Hedge End Rangers, who have lost their last four league games.

Prior to kick-off, The Grove will pay tribute to Louis Bell, who sadly passed away this week.

In Division One, the top four all have home games. Broughton, after their great win at Hythe & Dibden in midweek, are at home to Hayling United, Crofton Saints play last-placed QK Southampton, Overton United host Upham, still in fifth, but on a winless run of six league and cup games, and Hedge End Town take on Silchester Village.

FIXTURES

Just behind the top five, Rushmoor Community, hosting Twentyten, and Headley United, at home to AFC Netley, will both be hoping to make up ground with victories if there are any slip-ups by those above them.

The cup games are in the Portsmouth Senior Cup - one is an all-Senior Division clash between Denmead and Moneyfields Res, and the other sees Mob Albion travel to Meon Milton Reserves.
