WEEKEND PREVIEW - NOVEMBER 16
Once again, coming up is a weekend with a mixture of league games and cup games, this time round more of the latter.
The Senior Division sees six games scheduled, with new leaders Colden Common having a trip to third-bottom Sway. Andover Town are below Common only on goal difference and they have a potentially difficult game at Stockbridge, although the Robins are wildly inconsistent and without a league draw this season.
Hook have risen to third after six successive league wins, and this time they are at second-bottom Moneyfields Res.
Locks Heath are in fourth and are at Hedge End Rangers, who would like to end a run of four league and cup defeats on the spin. Meon Milton are just behind the top six with a game in hand and they could close the gap with a home win over Denmead. Harvest have also pulled themselves up into mid-table after a good run and they will be looking to continue that as they entertain last-placed Paulsgrove.
There are even more cup ties for our Division One clubs, leaving just three league games, but they are all of some sginificance.
One, however, pits undefeated leaders Broughton against Upham, in fifth. Neither team has had a good run recently, the home side without a win in their least three league and cup games, the visitors winless in five. Crofton Saints were knocked off second spot last weekend and face a tricky trip to Hayling United this time, with the hosts having climbed off the bottom of the table with a god recent run.
Whiteley Wanderers had a great win at Upham last weekend, and moved above this weekend's opponents Mob Albion by doing so, so both sides will have something to play for.
In the cups, the Southampton Senior Cup sees a very interesting matchup as Hedge End Town, on a great run in Division One, travel to Southampton League side AFC Shirley, who had that big Hampshire Trophy win at Broughton a couple of weeks ago.
In the North Hants Intermediate Cup we have three of our Division One sides against U23 opposition - Silchester travel to Andover New Street, Twentyten host North Waltham, and Overton host a rescheduled match against Romsey Town U23.
There are no less than five ties in the Aldershot Intermediate Cup - Senior division sides Liphook United and Whitehill & Bordon are at home to Frimley Green Reserves and Woking Vets respectively, and a team in red-hot form, Liss Athletic, travel to Woking United Sports Club.
Two Division One sides travel to face reserve opposition - Rushmoor Community are at Bagshot Res, and Headley United are at Fleet Town Res.
