WEEKEND PREVIEW DECEMBER 7
The weekend sees the third round of the Hampshire Saturday Trophy, as usual there some interesting and attractive ties to look forward to.
Two of our clubs face IOW opposition: in-form Harvest face a trip over to the island to play Brading Town, who are third in their league and have pedigree in the competition. Stockbridge have a home game against Vectis, who are fourth-bottom.
Two of our clubs have difficult games against teams from neighbouring leagues: Paulsgrove travel to Bournemouth Sports, undefeated leaders of the Dorset Premier League; and Colden Common entertain Southampton Prem AFC Shirley, who had a big win at Broughton in the last round.
There are four all-HPFL matchups: three big Senior-Division clashes see teams from the top half of the table all play each other - it's Hook v Meon Milton, Liphook United v Andover Town, and Liss Athletic v Locks Heath. Whitehill and Bordon against Overton United, going well in Division One, could be an interesting one too.
Finally, QK Southampton Reserves play Headley United.
There are a couple of early games in our own cup competitions too: in the uhlsport League Cup, the top two in Division One meet at the NormRod as Hedge End Town entertain Broughton.
In the George Mason Memorial Shield, in-form Bishops Waltham Dynamos play Denmead.
Some league action too:
There is just one game in the Senior Division, and it's an important bottom-three clash as Sway host Moneyfields Res.
There are several games in Division One: Crofton Saints could go back to second if they win at home to fifth-placed Upham. Two teams who had good wins last weekend face each other as Hayling United play AFC Netley, who have risen to sixth place.
Rushmoor Community, just below Netley, got a good point at Broughton last time out and now host QK Southampton, who climbed off the bottom of the table last Saturday with a win at Overton. Mob Albion are just above QK and play mid-table Silchester Village. Twentyten are now at the bottom and they host Whiteley Wanderers, who had a good win at Headley last time out.
