WEEKEND PREVIEW DECEMBER 14
Thanks to the storm and postponements last weekend, a very mixed bag of games coming up this weekend, in five different competitions!
Firstly, several Hampshire Saturday Trophy ties have been rolled over from last Saturday.
At the time of writing these are the ones coming up this weekend - but check Full Time, as more may have been rearranged!
Senior Division leaders Colden Common entertain Southampton Prem AFC Shirley, who had a big win at Broughton in the last round - this could be a good one.
There are two all-HPFL matchups and they see teams from the top half of the Senior Division all play each other - it's Hook v Meon Milton and Liphook United v Andover Town.
Finally, QK Southampton Reserves play Division One Headley United.
Our own domestic cup games were also scheduled for tis weekend, but because of rearrangments we only have three:
In the uhlsport League Cup it's an interesting matchup between in-form Senior Division Harvest against Crofton Saints, going well in Division One.
In the George Mason Memorial Shield it's a local derby as Liss Athletic, on a great run (although they did lose on penalties in the HST last weekend), entertain Rushmoor Community, dangerous Division One opponents.
The other game is no less attractive as it sees Overton United, fourth in Division One, host Stockbridge, mid-table in the Senior Division and very unpredictable.
We also have several league games:
In the Senior Division, Locks Heath can pull level with Common at the top if they beat Hedge End Rangers, who have one win in eight games, including a 2-1 home defeat to the same opposition recently. Locks are one of three teams on 31 points and Bishops Waltham Dynamos, in a rich vein of form, five wins in a row, scoring 27 goals in the process, can join them with a win at Denmead, who got a good 0-0 with Hook last weekend.
The bottom four all play each other - Moneyfields Res, third from last, host Whitehill & Bordon, one place but seven points ahead of them, and bottom club Paulsgrove host second-bottom Sway.
In Division One, unbeaten leaders Broughton travel to AFC Netley, who have risen to sixth after a run of five undefeated in the league. Hedge End Town could go back into second if they beat third-bottom Mob Albion. Lower down the table, QK Southampton dropped to last place again last weekend without playing and they travel to Whiteley Wanderers, only three places above them.
Twentyten's point against Whiteley last weekend took them off the bottom but they face a difficult trip this weekend to fifth-placed Upham, although Upham haven't win in their last seven league and cup games. Hayling United, having hit some form, are now fourth-bottom, and travel to mid-table Silchester Village.
