WEEKEND PREVIEW - JANUARY 6

Jan 04, 2024

The New Year kicks off with a strong HPFL presence featuring in the last 16 of the Hampshire Trophy.

Two of our teams have attractive home games against the top two IOW sides - Colden Common play Whitecroft & Barton, and Harvest facing West Wight.

Hedge End Town host Aldershot Town's U23's Suburban League side, who produced a good performance in winning at Hedge End Rangers in the previous round. Liphook United have a tricky trip to face Rushmoor Community of the Aldershot League. We also have an all-HPFL tie as Senior Division Hook are at home to Upham of Division One.

HAMPSHIRE TROPHY - DRAW IN FULL

Plenty of League action is scheduled alongside, too - in the Senior Division, the match of the day is at Locks Heath Rec, where it's second versus first as Infinity are the visitors.

Stockbridge have moved up to third place with three consecutive clean sheets, and face a tricky match away at Liss Athletic, who got back to winning ways over another title chaser, Locks Heath last time out.

FIXTURES - COMING-UP

Hayling United, in fifth, play third-bottom Moneyfields Res at Westleigh Park. Two teams currently in mid-table but hoping to challenge the top five meet at Jubilee Field as Sway host Denmead.

Whitehill and Bordon are at home to Paulsgrove, both teams looking for points to keep them away from the bottom two. Basement club Fleet Spurs entertain Bishops Waltham Dynamos.

LATEST TABLES

In Division One, we have another first versus second clash as Whiteley Wanderers host Meon Milton at Oasis Mayfield 3G.

Fourth-placed Headley United could move up to as high as second if Meon lose and they win at Overton United.

Bottom club Broughton could overtake Michelmersh & Timsbury, three places above them, if they beat them. Other teams in the bottom four face mid-table teams: Lyndhurst travel to QK Southampton and Twentyten are at home to AFC Netley.
