WEEKEND PREVIEW - JANUARY 11

10 January 2025

A number of our teams have Hampshire Saturday Trophy games to catch up on, postponed either from before Christmas or from last week.

Locks Heath, joint leaders of the Senior Division, have a tough trip to the Island to play West Wight. Harvest have an equally difficult trip, travelling to Brading Town. Both opponents are top four in their league.

TABLES

Stockbridge also have IOW opposition but are at home, to Vectis, in the lower half of their table. Hook are also at home to undefeated IOW leaders, Whitecroft & Barton Sports.

Whitehill and Bordon also host a top side from another league, this time, Bournemouth Sports from the Dorset Premier League, who lost for the first time just before Christmas.

Crofton Saints welcome US Portsmouth Res and there is one all-HPFL clash as Senior Division Andover Town host Division One Headley United.

RESULTS

There are still several league games - in the Senior Division, joint leaders Colden Common are at home to Denmead, who shocked Bishops Waltham Dynamos in the GMMS last weekend. Dynamos are third on the back of a good run and host bottom side Paulsgrove.

Liss Athletic have games in hand and look to continue their good run at home to mid-table Hedge End Rangers, who had an excellent win at Meon Milton last Saturday. Meon themselves travel to second-bottom Sway. Just above Sway are Moneyfields Res, who travel to Liphook United who, after three big league defeats in a row, will want to start their New Year with a win.

FIXTURES

In Division One leaders Broughton have a tricky trip to Rushmoor Community, who have done well in their first season at this level. There are three teams level on points behind Broughton, and two are in league action - Overton are at home to AFC Netley, who are six league games undefeated, including a win over Broughton, and Hedge End Town are at third-bottom Whiteley Wanderers.

Hayling United are improving rapidly and could draw level with mid-table Silchester Village if they beat them. The bottom two also play: last-placed Twentyten are at Mob Albion, who will want to win themselves to get out of the bottom five; and QK Southampton host fifth-placed Upham.
