WEEKEND PREVIEW - 28 FEBRUARY

27 February 2026

If the weather is kind this weekend then we have two important cup matches, in addition to several league games.

Our own cup competitions reach the semi-final stage, and one in each competition is scheduled for this weekend.

In the uhlsport League Cup, we have a clash between top five sides in the Senior Division as AFC Shirley entertain in-form Hedge End Rangers. In the George Mason Memorial Shieldit's an all-Division 1 matchup as third-top BTC Southampton play second-bottom Mob Albion.

In the Senior Division, Locks Heath are still ahead but only by one point (although they have games in hand). After another great performance against a Wessex team in midweek, they have a difficult trip this weekend to one of the clubs chasing them, Hook.

Another chasing club, Crofton Saints, have a home game against fourth bottom Meon Milton. At the other end of the table, last-placed Andover Town host Bishops Waltham Dynamos, who are mid-table, but with games in hand, are looking up the table rather than down.

Third-bottom Stockbridge host unpredictable Denmead A local matchup at the JJ sees Moneyfields Reserves play Southsea Sports, with the promise of a top five place for the home side if they win.

Division One sees leaders Overton United visit Sway, whom they beat 1-0 at home a month ago. Closest challengers AFC Netley, with games in hand, are at fourth-placed Hedge End Town in what promises to be a cracker.

It's seventh v fifth as Nursling & Shirley are at home to Silchester Village. In between them are Whiteley Wanderers, who will look to continue their good form at Hayling United, who are also on the way up again, having won their last two. A bottom-four clash sees Headley United, in decent form, entertain Twentyten.

In the Aldershot Intermediate Cup there is a local derby when Senior Division clubs Liphook United and Whitehill & Bordon meet.
