WEEKEND PREVIEW - 7 MARCH

6 March 2026

Improved weather, and a busy weekend, mainly league games, with a couple of important cup games thrown in for good measure.

Our sole remaining representative in the Hampshire Saturday Trophy, Crofton Saints, play their semi-final this weekend, they have a trip to Surrey Intermediate side Hart United, who have already eliminated two HPFL sides.

In the Senior Division, leaders Locks Heath are now four points clear with games in hand, and they have a home game this Saturday against second-bottom Liphook United. With second-placed Crofton in cup action, the two sides level with them on points could overtake them with wins; Hook are at home to Bishops Waltham Dynamos, who are unbeaten in ten league games, and Hedge End Rangers host Liss Athletic, who haven't played for the last two weeks.

Also not out of the race, in fifth and with games in hand, is AFC Shirley, and they host third-bottom Stockbridge, who will be on a high after a great cup win at Romsey on Thursday. Level with them on points are Moneyfields Res, who will be looking to get back on track after two successive home defeats; they travel to Meon Milton who ended a poor run with a great win at Crofton last weekend.

Southsea Sports also had a great win last weekend and will look to build on that with a win against bottom side Andover Town. Two teams in mid-table face each other at the Daly as Whitehill & Bordon play Broughton.

In Division One, with leaders Overton in cup action, second-placed AFC Netley have an opportunity to reduce the gap at the top with a win at Sway, who are now fourth-bottom after one point from the last four games. Hedge End Town could go third with a win at bottom club Paulsgrove.

It's sixth v fifth at the Oasis as Whiteley Wanderers host Silchester Village. Nursling & Shirley have games in hand on those above but have lost last three of their last four; they travel to Rushmoor Community, who ended a poor run with a win last Saturday.

There is also a bottom-five clash as in-form Headley United could move into mid-table if they beat Mob Albion.

We also have an all-Division One game in the North Hants Intermediate Cup when leaders Overton United face a trip to Twentyten.
