UPDATE: 12/08 - Further to the below guidance, The Hampshire Premier League are allowing the postponement of fixtures this weekend without penalty, in light of the weather conditions.

Games which continue to go ahead, can be found HERE

As we head into the weekend under an amber weather warning, we are asking clubs, players, officials and spectators to take sensible precautions throughout the course of their fixtures, to ensure games can be played safely.

This includes scheduled short drinks breaks at midway points in both halves, or as agreed by clubs and the match official.

NHS Guidance for all, recommends:

- Drinking plenty of fluids

- Try to keep out of the sun between 11am and 3pm - whether this be covered shade at grounds or using umbrellas.

- Apply high protection sunscreen regularly

- Watch out for signs of heat related illness. Find out about the signs of heat exhaustion and heatstroke, and when to get help.

Other specific tips include:

- Ensure you drink plenty of hydrating fluids before and after the game (consider drinks with electrolytes for re-hydrating although water is fine).
- Ensure all players have water and consider having additional ready to drink and cool down
- Avoid players wearing layers and, if possible, wear light colours where possible
- Consider having snacks such as frozen fruit, ice cubes or homemade lollies as a rehydrating treat (ensure you check the dietary requirements of players first).

Young children can often find it more difficult to regulate their body temperature and there is some good guidance available HERE

Please, please do not leave dogs unaccompanied inside vehicles.
