WEEKEND PREVIEW - AUG 13

PAR002_123 • Aug 11, 2022

Saturday offers another full programme in the Senior Division - while our Division One sides get their season under way.

Game of the day could well be at Oakwood Park, where last season's champions Colden Common play runners-up Denmead.

Two teams fresh from big victories in midweek play each other at Chilcomb, as Winchester Castle entertain Whitehill and Bordon.

There are two teams currently with two wins under their belt: Locks Heath have a home game (at Bay House 3G) against Andover New Street Swifts, and Stockbridge have a tricky-looking trip to Hayling United.

Harvest - fresh from a great win at Paulsgrove on their Senior Division debut in midweek - are at home to Sway.

Liphook United, without a point after two games, have a difficult trip to Clanfield. QK Southampton also have a tough trip, away to Paulsgrove, as do Overton United, who travel to Petersfield School to play Moneyfields Reserves.

Further fixtures follow in midweek once more, with a new variation on the A3 derby to look forward to, as Liphook United host Whitehill and Bordon (pictured). With these two and Liss Athletic, we should have some entertaining local games in the area.

Colden Common face their only away game in the first seven - a trip to Clanfield - which they lost convincingly last season.

Division One starts this Saturday with five games. We welcome Infinity back to the HPFL, and they open their fixtures at their new Sidlesham home with a game against Michelmersh and Timsbury.

Two teams who finished top four in Division One South East last season - Upham and Hook (who, of course, also won the Challenge Cup) - play each other at Ray's Farm, and another one of interest is Lyndhurst, who have come down from the Senior Division, and begin their campaign with a home game against AFC Netley, bottom of Division One South East last season.

Meon Milton have a home game against Headley United, both teams finishing in third in their respective Division One leagues last season, while AFC Petersfield host Broughton.

This is followed by a fuller midweek fixture list, in which Clarendon, Whiteley Wanderers, Twentyten and new boys Hedge End Town, who make their league debut at Infinity, also begin their seasons.
