VACANCY | LEAGUE SECRETARY

The Hampshire Premier Football League are looking to appoint an enthusiastic individual to take on the role of Secretary.

 

The Hampshire Premier Football League is a grassroots competition comprising of two Divisions, with a direct pathway into Step 6 (Wessex League) of the Non-League Structure (NLS).

 

The League seeks a motivated, organised – and ideally, experienced - sports administrator to be part of our volunteer committee, and help maintain the very highest standards across the League structure.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

 

·        Acting as the first point of contact for our Member Clubs

·        Responding to inbound enquiries directly and/ or delegating to the wider committee where applicable

·        Attend monthly committee meetings (at Winchester City FC) and our AGM, organising agendas and taking/ distributing minutes in a timely fashion.

·        Work alongside fellow volunteer committee members to ensure the League is managed and maintained to the highest standards across its structure

·        Supporting the League’s Ground, Discipline and Club sub-committees, alongside Fixtures, Referees, Finance and Media officers where necessary.

·        Ability to liaise with Hampshire FA, The FA and Divisional Leagues on League business where required.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

 

·        The successful candidate should have strong planning and organisational skills.

·        Previous administrative experience preferred, ideally within grassroots/ non-league football, although not essential as experienced colleagues can mentor

·        Proficiency of MS Word, Excel and Gmail is required, alongside strong written and oral communication skills

·        Be able to demonstrate an attention to detail

·        Be able to work unsupervised when carrying out duties

·        Previous knowledge/ experience of the FA’s Whole Game and Full-Time platforms would be advantageous (training can be provided)

 

REMITTANCE:


·        This is a voluntary role, however it is tradition for the League to award an annual honorarium at the end of each season.

·        All legitimate expenses will be paid, to support the candidate in this role as required.

 

This is the ideal opportunity to gain experience within football administration or to support an individual’s progression within football administration.
