WEEKEND PREVIEW - OCT 15

Oct 14, 2022

Cup action dominates the fixture list this weekend, with a couple of league games thrown in for good measure.

In the League Cup, it's second round time, and high-flying Senior Division sides Colden Common and Locks Heath have winnable home ties against Overton United and Broughton respectively.

Stockbridge also have a home tie, against Division One side Twentyten, which may not be as easy as it might look - the visitors won at Paulsgrove last week.

FIXTURES

It could be a close game at the Cockleshell where Division One outfit, Meon Milton entertain Senior Division opposition in Harvest, and Liss Athletic will also have to be careful at Whiteley Wanderers.

There is an all-Senior Division clash at Sway, where Winchester Castle are the visitors, and an all-Division One meeting at the Norman Rodaway, where Hedge End Town host second-placed Infinity (pictured, in yellow).

L4 LEAGUE CUP DRAW

It's also the first round of the George Mason Memorial Shield, which this season comprises of teams who were knocked out at the first round stage of the League Cup. Senior Division clubs travelling to Division One clubs include Denmead at AFC Petersfield, Liphook United at Lyndhurst, and Whitehill & Bordon at Michelmersh & Timsbury. QK Southampton host Paulsgrove.

GEORGE MASON MEMORIAL SHIELD DRAW

As for league action, there's an attractive clash in the Senior Division as Hayling United are at home to second-place Andover New Street Swifts.

In Division One, leaders Hook look to increase their lead further as they are home to AFC Netley (also pictured, in blue), but the visitors would move into third with a win, with games in hand on most teams around them. Upham could move above Infinity into second if they beat Headley United at home by more than two goals.
