WEEKEND PREVIEW - SEPTEMBER 13

12 September 2025

After our League Cup weekend last Saturday, we are mainly back to league games this time around, with a couple of Portsmouth Senior Cup games thrown in.

They involve a big game between two of the top three teams in the Senior Division, Locks Heath hosting unbeaten Denmead. The two teams meet again in the league next Tuesday. Southsea Sports also host Paulsgrove, conquerors of Liphook United last weekend.

FIXTURES

In the Senior Division, AFC Shirley moved into top spot in midweek and host fifth-placed Liss Athletic in what should be a game worth watching. Crofton Saints, in fourth and still unbeaten, are at home to Bishops Waltham Dynamos in another attractive matchup.

Meon Milton had a great win at Wessex One Clanfield in midweek and now have a tough trip to Broughton, who are adapting well to life at this level.

Bottom club Andover Town are at Sholing to face Hedge End Rangers, who have had two good wins in their first week at their new home. Just above Andover are Stockbridge, who are at home to Whitehill & Bordon, who have won their last three games. Hook host Moneyfields Res, having beaten them 5-0 in the cup last weekend.

TABLES

In Division One, the top two meet again at Overton Rec where the home team host Nursling & Shirley, having lost to them in the League Cup last Saturday. The other teams with a 100% record, AFC Netley, play Hedge End Town.

At Romsey in another big game. Silchester Village are unbeaten and are at home to Headley United, who have conceded 19 goals in their three league and cup games so far. Hayling United have yet to pick up a point from their two league games and are at home to Sway.

Twentyten meet Mob Albion, who narrowly lost to US Portsmouth on Tuesday, and Whiteley Wanderers travel to Rushmoor Community.
