WEEKEND PREVIEW - MARCH 25

Mar 23, 2023

As we mark Non-League Day, the coming weekend sees both Divisions with some very important games. Hopefully the weather will allow...

In the Senior Division, the top four are all at home against teams lower than them in the table. Leaders Colden Common - who extended their lead to four points in midweek - host seventh-placed Stockbridge at their temporary home of Mansel Park. Visitors Stockbridge have hit a poor run of form just at the wrong moment - Fran Mathers' side without a win in their last six.

Locks Heath (pictured, in red) moved up to second in midweek and face Liphook United, who are in great form, seven unbeaten.

Andover New Street Swifts, now in third, host bottom club QK Southampton, and fourth placed Clanfield - with games in hand on Swifts - have a tricky-looking home game against another form side in Winchester Castle.

COMING-UP - NON-LEAGUE DAY HPFL FIXTURE LIST

It's also the Front Lawn derby as sixth-placed Denmead, with games in hand on most teams above them, host fifth-placed Harvest (pictured, in yellow).

At the other end of the table. second-bottom Overton United, who picked up a useful point in midweek, are away to Paulsgrove, and there is a mid-table clash as Whitehill & Bordon play Sway.

Those of you wanting to watch two games on Non-League Day could then travel to Havant and Waterlooville for a 6.30pm kick-off, as third-bottom Moneyfields Reserves will aim to move further away from the bottom two as they play Liss Athletic. This and the Denmead match (3pm) are both on 3G, in case the weather is a problem.

Another big game in Division One, as leaders Infinity play at third-placed Hedge End Town. A win would be a decisive step in the direction of the title.

LEAGUE TABLES - HOW THEY STAND

Second-placed Hook, who lost 2-3 to Infinity in last week's showdown, are at Headley United, and simply must win to keep any interest in top spot. Upham are in fourth, and can challenge for third place if they win at second-bottom Lyndhurst.

Teams who have games in hand on the top four, and who won well last weekend, have away games at teams who are out of form: Meon Milton travel to Broughton, and AFC Netley go to bottom club Michelmersh & Timsbury.
