WEEKEND PREVIEW - JANUARY 25

23 January 2025

Just a couple of cup matches for our teams this weekend, as we're back to league action.

In the Senior Division leaders Colden Common, two points ahead of the field with two games in hand, have a tricky task away to fifth-placed Andover Town, although the Bluebirds are winless in three.

Common will need to get a result as nearest challengers Locks Heath have a home game against third-bottom Moneyfields Res, and Bishops Waltham Dynamos are at home to Harvest.

FIXTURES

Only one point separates four teams in positions 6-9, and three of those teams are in league action this weekend - Meon Milton host bottom club Paulsgrove, there is an attractive matchup at the Deer Park as Hedge End Rangers host Hook, who had that great win over Whitecroft & Barton in the Trophy last weekend, and Stockbridge travel to Denmead.

In Division One leaders Broughton entertain fifth-bottom Mob Albion, and second-placed Hedge End Town are at home to mid-table Rushmoor Community. Overton United, who, on the back of three wins in a row are third, face an interesting trip to Silchester Village, and fourth-placed Crofton Saints, five games unbeaten, have a tough-looking game at fifth-placed Upham.

RESULTS

Whiteley Wanderers are fourth from bottom and will be looking to pull further away from the basement as they play at second-bottom QK Southampton, but the hosts have had some decent results recently, and are dangerous opponents.

Bottom club Twentyten travel to AFC Netley, who still have an eye on the top five as their unbeaten record currently stands at six games.

TABLES

The Aldershot Intermediate Cup has served up two attractive local derbies for our teams: Senior Division Liphook United, four games without a win, are at home to Division One Headley United, who had that great win over Andover Town in the Trophy last Saturday.

Whitehill and Bordon, who followed up an excellent Trophy win over Bournemouth Sports a couple of weeks ago with a 6-5 win over Sway last Saturday, host in-form Liss Athletic.
