WEEKEND PREVIEW - JAN 21

Jan 20, 2023

Let's see how many games beat the frost with forecast to end on Saturday! An almost full league programme is scheduled.

*For the latest updates for games ON this weekend, please see our Fixtures page.

The only cup game scheduled is a Hampshire Saturday Trophy matchup at the Cockleshell, as Meon Milton try to make it third time lucky in taking on Hartley Wintney U23s.

In the Senior Division, leaders Andover New Street Swifts can go three points clear of Stockbridge, who aren't playing, with a win at Liphook United. Third-placed Locks Heath will be looking to get back on track after two defeats as they travel to Liss Athletic, which may not be an easy task.

Fourth play fifth at Front Lawn as Harvest host Colden Common, who haven't played a league game since Dec 3, and have games in hand on the leaders.

LEAGUE TABLES

Just below them, Denmead have a difficult game at Whitehill and Bordon, but Clanfield will be hoping to pick up points at home to second-bottom Overton United, and boost their aim of at least a top five place.

Further down the table, bottom club Winchester Castle play Moneyfields Res, only one point and three places above them,

Hayling United travel to mid-table Sway, and Paulsgrove host QK Southampton, with both teams looking to keep away from the lower echelons, having played more games than some of their rivals.

In Division One, leaders Infinity face a tricky-looking task at Hedge End Town, only one league defeat in 11 games this season. Second-placed Hook travel to bottom team Michelmersh and Timsbury, a team they only beat 2-1 at home last Saturday.

Third-placed Twentyten are at home to Broughton, and Upham, level with them on points but with two games in hand, travel to Headley United. At the other end of the table, second-bottom Lyndhurst travel to AFC Petersfield, who will be looking to put more points between them and the strugglers.
