WEEKEND PREVIEW - FEBRUARY 27

28 February 2025

Hopefully the weather will improve and allow us to complete another interesting set of fixtures as things start to hot-up in both the league and cup.

In the Hampshire Saturday Trophy we have 'our' semi-final, one that promises a great deal as Division One Crofton Saints, who have had a great debut season, entertain Colden Common, leaders of the Senior Division.

The winners will play either Ringwood Town Dev or Tadley Calleva Res in the final at AFC Stoneham on May 13th.

FIXTURES

We also have an Aldershot Intermediate Cup semi-final, another Senior Division versus Division One clash where Liphook United will have to be on top form as they host Rushmoor Community

In the Senior Division the top four are not in league action so the teams just behind them, all of whom have games in hand, could make up ground on them with some good results. Andover Town, in fifth, had been on poor form but have won their last three, and they are at home to fourth-bottom Moneyfields Res.

TABLES

Liss Athletic are in even better form and travel to second-bottom Sway, who gave Locks Heath a good game last weekend. Stockbridge have also won three in a row after some inconsistent form but face a tricky trip to Meon Milton.

Hook have fallen away a bit after a couple of defeats so will be looking to change that at home to third-bottom Whitehill and Bordon. Bottom club Paulsgrove travel to Denmead.

In Division One, leaders Broughton travel to third-bottom Headley United, who will need to start capitalising on some of their games in hand soon. Hedge End Town moved back to second last weekend and host a potentially cracking game against in-form AFC Netley, who are in sixth.

RESULTS

If they don't win then third-placed Overton United will be poised to take advantage as they are home to bottom team Twentyten. Hayling United are another team in form and have risen to fifth, they travel to second-bottom QK Southampton this weekend.

Two teams in the bottom five have difficult trips to mid-table sides: Whiteley Wanderers are at Silchester Village, and Mob Albion are at Upham.
