WEEKEND PREVIEW - AUGUST 16
This weekend, we have a full complement of Senior Division matches, but it is also the first day of the Division One season.
In the Senior Division, we now have three unbeaten sides. Denmead will look to continue their great start with a home game against Liphook United, who ended AFC Shirley's long unbeaten record last time out.
Crofton Saints had a great win at Liss Athletic on Tuesday, and they host Andover Town, who have started with two defeats so far, and Locks Heath are at Stockbridge, who have lost all three games so far.
Bishops Waltham Dynamos suffered their first loss on Tuesday and will be looking to make amends as they host Broughton. Liss Athletic did the same and they play Hook, who have started well with two wins out of three so far.
Two more teams looking to bounce back from their first defeat meet in an attractive-looking game at the Cockleshell as Meon Milton play AFC Shirley.
Both Southsea Sports and Hedge End Rangers had their first wins last time out and they face each other at Langstone, which could be an interesting encounter. Whitehill & Bordon are winless in four and are at home to Moneyfields Res.
In Division One, the two relegated clubs will be looking to make a swift comeback, and both start with potentially difficult away trips. Paulsgrove travel to Nursling & Shirley, who, as QK Southampton last season, were in the bottom two for quite a while but eventually finished well clear after a good run from January.
Sway are at Silchester Village, who finished a creditable fifth on their return to this level least season.
Overton United missed out on promotion in their final game and begin this season with a trip to Whiteley Wanderers, who finished second bottom. BTC Southampton, up from the Southampton League, play at Twentyten, who were bottom last season.
Two teams who nearly made the top five last season and will be looking to improve even further this time round face each other as AFC Netley host Hayling United (at Romsey Town), and Rushmoor Community, who also had a solid first season, are at Mob Albion, who finished third-bottom last year.
