WEEKEND PREVIEW - AUG 19

Aug 16, 2023

The Senior Division sees in-form Liss Athletic - fresh from their excellent 4-1 midweek win at Liphook United (pictured) in the 'A3 Derby' - host last season's champions Colden Common, whose new team has suffered three defeats so far.

Liphook themselves face a tricky trip to Paulsgrove, who were narrowly beaten by a solitary goal at Denmead last time out.

COMING-UP - FIXTURES

Three teams still have 100% records; Locks Heath play Fleet Spurs (at Bay House) - who shipped seven to Bishops Waltham; Stockbridge host Whitehill & Bordon - who got off the mark at Common last time out - and Sway face Hook, still looking for their first points in the top flight.

Also seeking to get off the mark are Hayling United, who host Infinity - Rich Bessey's side having that remarkable 4-4 draw at Liss last weekend with an injury time leveller.

LEAGUE TABLES

New boys Bishops Waltham Dynamos will be looking to build on last Saturday's big win as they host Denmead, and Harvest host Moneyfields Reserves.

A full programme is also scheduled in Division One, where Hedge End Rangers marked their return to the league with a 7-0 home win last Saturday - this weekend they are at home to the other team who won on the opening day, Whiteley Wanderers.

The two relegated teams face each other as QK Southampton entertain Overton United, who got a good 2-2 draw at Meon Milton last Saturday. Meon themselves are at home to Broughton.

Last season's bottom two also face each other as Lyndhurst play Michelmersh & Timsbury - both lost last weekend. Two teams who did well last term oppose one another on Saturday, as Upham host Hedge End Town. Finally, Headley United play Twentyten as both teams begin their campaigns.
