WEEKEND PREVIEW - 31 JANUARY
Again, a couple of cup games scheduled and a pretty full set of league games, weather permitting.
The cup sees the first of the Hampshire Saturday Trophy quarter-finals contested by our teams, an all-Senior Division clash as Crofton Saints host Whitehill & Bordon at the AEI.
Note the early kick off as Fareham are using the ground later! There is also an all-Senior Division matchup in the North Hants Intermediate Cup, Hook hosting Broughton.
In the Senior Division, leaders Locks Heath are in action at Liss Athletic, who ended their poor run last Saturday and remain in seventh place. With Crofton in cup action, both AFC Shirley and Moneyfields Reserves have a chance to overtake them and reach second spot.
Shirley are at home to fourth-bottom Meon Milton and Moneys Res travel to Bishops Waltham Dynamos. Both Denmead and Hedge End Rangers will be looking to challenge the top five with a win; Denmead host Southsea Sports, who had a good win last weekend, and Hedge End Rangers travel to bottom club Andover Town.
There is also a bottom-three clash as Liphook United play Stockbridge.
In Division One, Overton United opened up a three-point lead at the top last weekend and now face Headley United, who were buoyed by a couple of wins against Paulsgrove in successive Saturdays.
AFC Netley, in second, have a tough trip to fifth-placed Silchester Village. Hedge End Town went into third last Saturday and this time are at home to Sway, whose good run was halted in a close game at Overton last weekend.
BTC Southampton, in fourth, are at home to Hayling United, who are now in the bottom five after five straight losses in league and cup. Further down the league, bottom club Paulsgrove host Nursling & Shirley, who are now down to mid-table (with games in hand) having lost their last three games.
Mob Albion are now just above the Grove and have a tricky game at Rushmoor Community. Twentyten are third from last and travel to in-form Whiteley Wanderers, now seventh after five wins in their last six.
