WEEKEND PREVIEW - 23 MARCH

Mar 22, 2024

We have several Senior Division matches scheduled for this weekend, but the top three are not in league action (Infinity played Liphook in the battle of the top two on Wednesday). Locks Heath, in fourth, could therefore move up a place if they beat mid-table Sway at home. The focus is more on the lower half of the table, where only six points separate eighth from fifteenth, and some of them play each other - Hayling United host Harvest and Hook host Colden Common, currently in that fifteenth spot.

TABLES

Also in that group are Liss Athletic, who travel to bottom club Fleet Spurs, having beaten them 9-0 at home last weekend, and Denmead, who entertain seventh-placed Bishops Waltham Swifts. Moneyfields Res moved out of the bottom two thanks to a midweek draw with Locks Heath, and play fifth-placed Paulsgrove at Marsden Road this weekend.

We also have an all Senior-Division Aldershot Intermediate Cup semi-final, with Liphook United (another semi-final for them) hosting Whitehill & Bordon.

FIXTURES

RESULTS

In Division One, leaders Hedge End Rangers are not in action, so Meon Milton, in second, could reduce their lead to seven points if they win at Broughton, but that won't be easy, as both Hedge End teams have lost there recently. Third-placed Whiteley Wanderers, only a point behind Meon, host bottom club Michelmersh & Timsbury. Sixth play fifth as Headley United are at home to Upham. Third-bottom Twentyten, after their big win last weekend, face a difficult trip to QK Southampton, and Overton United play AFC Netley, the clubs separated by one place, but by six points, in the table.
