WEEKEND PREVIEW - 20 APRIL

Apr 19, 2024

In the Senior Division, all three of the teams chasing leaders Infinity are again in action. Second-placed Locks Heath, who won in midweek, are now only two points off the top with two games in hand, and they must travel to Denmead, who also need the points as they are fourth-bottom having played more than the teams below them.

TABLES

Liphook United also won in midweek and they are still title favourites with seven games still to play and are only six points behind Infinity. They are at home to Hayling, who are in the bottom five. Stockbridge, in fourth, go to Colden Common, whose recent form have enabled them to climb away from the basement area, and the Robins are now being challenged by Liss Athletic, on a great run of form in fifth and only two points behind.

RESULTS

Liss host Hook who have also been in good nick recently. Two teams who have slipped out of top five contention after recent defeats face each other as Bishops Waltham Dynamos are at home to Paulsgrove. Bottom club Fleet Spurs host third-bottom Sway, who will be looking to break a run of four successive defeats and move away from the danger zone.

In Division One, leaders Hedge End Rangers play their final game next weekend, so it's another chance for the chasing pack to make some inroads into their lead. We have a big game at the Cockleshell as second-placed Meon Milton, with six wins in a row, host fourth-placed Hedge End Town, whose recent run of one win on six has severely damaged their prospects of catching their rivals.

FIXTURES

Third-placed Whiteley Wanderers travel to North Hants Intermediate Cup winners Overton United. Upham are only four points off fourth place with a game in hand, and they travel to QK Southampton. Further down the table, Lyndhurst are at home to fourth-bottom Twentyten, and if the home side don't win then they will be confirmed as finishing second-bottom. Third-bottom Broughton play Headley United in an attractive-sounding game with both teams in quite good form.
