SENIOR DIVISION - PREVIEW

Paul Harris • Aug 01, 2022

The Senior Division kicks-off the 22/23 season on Saturday (Aug 6) with three of the four new teams in action.

Last season's Division One North Hants champions, Andover New Street Swifts, start life in the top-tier with a challenging curtain-raiser at Senior Division champions, Colden Common.

Whitehill & Bordon will expect a tough game at Paulsgrove, and, although QK Southampton have a home fixture, Clanfield are their visitors, who improved dramatically during the second half of last season - and include victory over Wessex side, Baffins Milton Rovers during their pre-season.

Last season's runners up, Denmead, face a home clash with Overton United, while Moneyfields Reserves - third last term - face a tricky trip down to the New Forest to League Cup winners, Sway.

Liss Athletic will be looking for an improvement on last season - they welcome a Stockbridge side to Newman Collard who finished just outside the top five in 21/22. Meanwhile, Hayling United travel to Winchester Castle to complete the opening day line-up.

There are also a number of midweek fixtures in the Senior Division on August 9/10, with Colden Common hosting Moneyfields Reserves on the Tuesday, while Division One South East runners-up Harvest take their Senior Division bow on Wednesday with a trip to Paulsgrove.

Liss Athletic also play Whitehill & Bordon on Wednesday in a new local derby, alongside QK Southampton who face Locks Heath in their first Senior Division outing. Stockbridge are on the road again to another new club, in Andover New Street.

Division One meanwhile gets under way on Saturday, August 13.
