CONSTITUTION - 23/24

Jun 11, 2023

The Hampshire Premier League constitution for 2023/24 has been confirmed, following the League's AGM, held at Winchester City FC, on Sunday.

It comprises once more of 30 clubs split across our respective two Divisions - with the addition of some new names to replace those departing.

Southampton Premier League champions, Bishops Waltham Dynamos are *promoted in to our 17-club Senior Division, while Fleet Spurs are welcomed into the HPFL, following their relegation from the Wessex League Division One.

**Note: Winchester Castle subsequently withdrew, giving a 16-team Senior Division.

Last season's Division One top-two, Infinity and Hook take their place in the top-tier - Infinity of course no strangers to the level as previous runners-up in 2019, prior to their Wessex League promotion in 2021.

Having retracted their earlier withdrawal, Denmead are continuing under new management. Departing us are Andover New Street Swifts who unfortunately folded, and last season's runners-up Clanfield, who we congratulate on their promotion to the Wessex League Division One.

The 13-team Division One takes on a new look too, with Hedge End Rangers - runners-up in the Southampton Premier League - given a *lateral move. Last season's bottom two from the Premier Division in QK Southampton and Overton United, are relegated, while there are reprieves for both Lyndhurst and Michelmersh & Timsbury. Meanwhile, we say farewell to AFC Petersfield, who withdrew towards the end of 2022/23.

The AGM also confirmed the start of season dates, being August 5 for the Senior Division and August 12 for Division One.

There was also recognition to long-standing Vice Chairman and Ground Grading Officer, Bryan Clarke, who is standing down. John's service was recognised in being made Life Vice President. We would like to pass on our sincere thanks to Bryan for all his help in running the HPFL over the years. In addition, John Moody becomes Life President.

Acting Secretary, Paul Crocker, was also thanked for his work in taking on the role mid-season, and was voted in as Secretary per se.

* Denotes as approved by the Hampshire Inter Leagues Committee
