WEEKEND PREVIEW - SEPT 2

Aug 31, 2023

The last full league programme before the cups begin next week, and in the Senior Division new leaders Liphook United are at home to Paulsgrove.

Denmead moved into second in midweek and they host Hook, who gained their first win of the season last weekend. Liss Athletic, now third, are back in action with an attractive-looking visit to Sway, who are only below them on goal difference.

FIXTURES - COMING-UP

Another match that promises much is Infinity's trip to Stockbridge. Locks Heath will attempt to retain the only unbeaten team in the division as they play Moneyfields Res at the Rec.

Last season's champions Colden Common are in bottom place and host an important-looking game against Bishops Waltham Dynamos. Harvest will be looking to move up the table as they play Fleet Spurs, and Hayling United host Whitehill & Bordon.

TABLES

There are two teams in Division One who have won both games and they are both at home this weekend - Headley United host the resurgent Michelmersh & Timsbury, and Whiteley Wanderers have an intriguing clash with unbeaten Upham.

Two more unbeaten teams face tricky away trips - QK Southampton are at Hedge End Rangers, and Hedge End Town are at Twentyten.

The two teams at the foot of the table will be looking to get their first points of the season as Lyndhurst are at home to AFC Netley and Broughton travel to Overton United (pictured in blue), who won that remarkable 8-5 match at Twentyten in midweek.
