WEEKEND PREVIEW - APRIL 22

Apr 20, 2023

And so to the last full programme of the season across both Divisions, with some key fixtures taking place.

We start at the top of the Senior Division, where the big match is at Locks Heath, where Clanfield (pictured) - who inflicted Colden Common's first league defeat since August last time out - are the visitors. At the moment, Heath are third, and Andover New Street Swifts (who are spare this weekend) are top, but they have both played several more games than second-placed Clan and fourth-placed Common.

Common themselves are at Sway this weekend - the New Forest side defeated by Overton in midweek.

COMING-UP - FIXTURES

Fifth play sixth as Harvest entertain Stockbridge at Front Lawn. Lower down the table, bottom club QK Southampton - with games in hand - are at home to Winchester Castle, while fourth-bottom play third-bottom in the late match as Moneyfields Res entertain Hayling United at Havant (6.30pm).

Finally, there is the little matter of an A3 derby, as Liphook United - on a thirteen-match unbeaten run, and fresh from a superb cup win at Yateley United in midweek - are a home to Liss Athletic.

LEAGUE TABLES

In Division One, the title race was decided last week with Infinity taking the crown, but Hook can clinch second place this weekend if they win at basement side, Michelmersh & Timsbury.

Hedge End Town, in third, and Meon Milton in fourth, will be looking to take advantage of any Hook slip-up, as they look to keep their promotion hopes alive. Hedge End travel to mid-table Headley United for their last game of the season, and nearest challengers Meon Milton entertain second-bottom Lyndhurst.

It's also fifth versus sixth as Upham are at home to AFC Netley - a win for Upham would clinch fifth place, but any other result would mean that Netley could still catch them, if they won their games in hand.
