WEEKEND PREVIEW - 8 NOVEMBER
This weekend has a mixture of cup games and league games.
In the Senior Division, leaders Locks Heath are in cup action, so any of the three teams below them could overtake them with wins: second-placed Crofton Saints are at home to Southsea Sports, Hook, in third, host Whitehill & Bordon, who had an excellent cup win last weekend, and AFC Shirley, in fourth, host Denmead, who seem to have lost their way recently after a good start.
Liss Athletic, in fifth, have a trip to bottom club Andover Town, and Hedge End Rangers, fresh from their win over Locks last weekend, play at Bishops Waltham Dynamos. Two teams in lower mid-table face each other as Moneyfields Reserves host Broughton.
In Division One we have four games planned: second-placed AFC Netley could draw level with leaders Overton United (who aren't playing) at the top if they win at Mob Albion.
It's also fifth versus fourth as Hedge End Town, three wins in a row recently, host Nursling & Shirley. Both Sway and Twentyten are currently above the bottom three, but have played more games.
Twentyten have a tough trip to Rushmoor Community and Sway host bottom team Paulsgrove.
We have some more Hampshire Saturday Trophy games, with an interesting all-HPFL matchup at Silchester where the home team, going well in Division 1, host Meon Milton, mid-table in the Senior Division.
All the other ties involve our teams against U23/reserve teams. The most notable one is BTC Southampton's trip to Tadley Calleva Res, who won this competition last season.
Other ties include Eversley & California Res v Whiteley Wanderers, Romsey Town U23 v Hayling United, and Senior Division leaders Locks Heath's trip to face Liss Athletic Res.
Another cup competition starting this weekend is the Aldershot Intermediate Cup; Liphook United are at Hartley Wintney Res.
