WEEKEND PREVIEW - 3 JANUARY

1 January 2026

Hope you all had a good Christmas and best wishes for the New Year!

For our first weekend in 2026 we have five games currently scheduled in the fourth round of the Hampshire Saturday Trophy and four Senior League matches. Please check Full Time for details on the day.

The cup games see all of our teams, apart from one, facing reserve/U21 sides.

The exception is Hedge End Rangers' tie with Hart United, who have already won at Stockbridge and Liss Athletic in this competition. They won the Aldershot League with a 100% record last season and are currently fifth in the Surrey County Intermediate League (Western), so this could be a good game to watch.

Andover Town are at home to Follands 'A', who won at BTC in the last round, AFC Shirley travel to Meon Milton Reserves, Crofton Saints host US Portsmouth Res, who have already beaten Broughton and Bishops Waltham, and AFC Netley host Ringwood Town Development, who beat Twentyten on penalties after a 5-5 draw in the last round.

As we've mentioned before, this sort of opposition is unpredictable.

In the Senior Division, it's third versus second, and a win for either Hook or Locks Heath would see them take over at the top.

If Denmead can beat Moneyfields Res by two or more goals they would move into fourth but Moneys are on a run of one league defeat in eight, so this could be a tough task.

Also with a tough task are second-bottom Stockbridge, who are at home to sixth-placed Liss Athletic. There is also a mid-table clash between Whitehill & Bordon and Bishops Waltham Dynamos.
