THE GEORGE MASON MEMORIAL SHIELD
We are delighted to announce the introduction of the George Mason Memorial Shield for 2022/23.
League Secretary, Darren Lewis, said: "George was a hugely respected Chairman and pillar of the Hampshire Premier League, alongside his involvement with Fleetlands for many years."
George Mason - the HPFL are naming a competition after their former Chairman.
"We have a lot to thank George for in his support of the HPFL, and thought it only fitting that a competition be named after him."
The George Mason Memorial Shield replaces the L4 Teamwear Supplementary Shield, won by Hook last season (pictured). It will again form a straight knock-out, and be contested by the 16 losing sides of the League Cup first round.
The HPFL were additionally pleased to attend Fleetlands FC for the unveiling of a commemorative bench that was presented on behalf of members of the League, last month.
