AGM NEWS & 2019-20 PRIZE MONEY

Paul Proctor • Jun 15, 2020

Highlights from yesterdays AGM

Yesterday, the league held its 13th AGM in somewhat unusual circumstances.

Normally on the 2nd Sunday in June we would all meet up in person, but due to the current restrictions, that was a non-starter this year and with in excess of 50-60 people present, the logistics for a video conference were too much at too short a notice, so all votes were carried out via email.

Firstly details of the prize money we were able to award from 2019-20 were given to clubs.

With the FA deeming steps 3-7 as null and void, we were not able to award any prize money to our Senior Division clubs.

Division 1 however, clubs had previously voted on a Points Per Game basis and the prize money went as follows:

1st Place: Moneyfields Reserves £150
2nd Place: Denmead £100
3rd Place: Andover New Street Swifts £50

In the Fair Play Awards from the Hampshire FA Tables
1st Place: Kingsclere £125
2nd Place: Clanfield £100
3rd Place: Upham £50

From the referees' report forms for both respect shown to them by the players and management team as well as matchday hospitality, CLANFIELD were the winners of the £100 prize.

From the mystery supporter feedback received, STOCKBRIDGE were the winners of the £100 prize.

Congratulations to all of them.

Clubs and league officers than had the oppportunity to vote on various issues and the voting went as follows. (It is important to note that the proposed new clubs as they were not members of the league at that point, were not able to vote on items 2-6 on the AGM)

2. Minutes from last seasons AGM - were agreed 32 in favour, 0 against, 8 Abstentions
3. Secretary's Annual report was agreed - 33 in favour, 0 against and 7 abstentions
4. Finances and Balance Sheet was agreed - 33 in favour, 0 against and 7 abstentions
5. Election of new clubs (Clarendon, Harvest Home and Silchester all for Division 1) was agreed. 32 in favour, 1 against and 7 abstentions.
6. Constitution of League was agreed - 31 in favour, 2 against and 7 abstentions.

With that Clarendon, Harvest Home and Silchester were all able to vote
7. League officers - rather than on an individual basis and as has been done the past few seasons the committee were voted en bloc and all who stood were re-elected. Roger Allen has stood down as welfare officer, so we do require someone to take on that role, whilst Paul Crocker of Bush Hill was elected on as the 3rd club representative.
Votes went as follows: 36 in favour, 0 against and 7 abstentions

8. The League acccounts verifer was then agreed upon. Votes for 36, against 0, Abstentions 7
9. Alterations to the rules were then agreed. 35 in favour, 1 against and 7 abstentions
Finally the date of next years agm was agreed for Sunday 14th June 2021. 36 in favour and 7 abstentions.

1 club failed to vote and they will be dealt with as a non-attendee as per the rules.

Going back to no 9 the main changes to the rules are as follows:

Clubs can now register players up to mid-day on the day of the game in question.

Clubs who "cant raise a team" for their first team game but subsequently play their reserve or 'A' team matches the same day with registered first team players, can expect an additional charge for failing to adhere to Hampshire FA's fixture precedence list.

All clubs need to phone their result through to both the Full Time SMS code and Result and Scorers to the fixture secretary by 5:30pm for Saturday fixtures or 10pm for midweek matches.

The league will be holding a subsequent Special General Meeting as soon as it is practical and a vote will be taken on a seconded proposal to potentially amend the constitution if for whatever reason, spaces become available in the Senior Division.
